How to Get Started as a Freelancer
According to Forbes, 56.7 million Americans were doing freelance work as of October 2018 and that total is expected to double by 2020. The current reality is that the 21st-century workforce has been shifting from 9-5 office and factory centric workplaces to work from anywhere and any time environments. Often referred to as the gig economy, businesses are saving resources in terms of benefits, office space and training. The question is are the freelancers benefitting.

West Business Development Center (West BDC) is one of those resources and now West BDC is bringing you a special Succeeding as a Freelancer Workshop in partnership with Samaschool, a San Francisco-based non-profit that trains individuals to succeed as freelancers.
This special workshop offers a 2-hour live workshop to help get you started on the training course. After the live workshop, there are 6-hours of additional online training that you can finish at your own pace. The coursework is carefully designed to help you build the strategic tools you need to launch your business successfully, and market products and services to acquire new clients.
