Get Started in Your Catering and Mobile Food Business

Does of the idea of starting or growing your catering business light a fire within you? Can you taste it? If so sign up for this workshop that will teach you how to take your concepts and transform them into a successful reality.

This workshop will focus on meeting and solving the many challenges that come with running a catering business or food truck. Being creative in the kitchen is fundamental, as well as understanding the day to day management of a business. Restaurateur and Culinary Arts Management Lead Instructor, Nicholas Petti, will provide the necessary basics of planning and operating an off-site catering and mobile food business.

What you can expect to learn:

  • How to operate an off-site catering and mobile food business

  • Understanding labor laws, OSHA, and various operational standards for the industry

  • How location placement and menu choices can affect success

  • How to set up locations, and contracts

  • How to establish payment procedures and policies for culinary services

Workshop Instructor: Nicholas Petti is a well-known restaurateur in Fort Bragg,CA and the head of instruction of Mendocino Community College’s Culinary Arts Management Program.  He is a leader in the culinary community winning acclaims and awards for his crab cakes every year in the Mendocino Crab and Wine Days, and countless community “Farm to Table” fundraisers. As a culinary arts instructor he introduces his students to traditional foods from around the world while introducing the most modern techniques and artfully created approaches. Mendocino Community College was the fortunate educational institution to have him lead their program, and we are pleased to welcome him to our West Business Development Center culinary workshop series.
