From the federal government to local level, there’s a wealth of information about COVID-19 vaccines. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention posts up-to-the-minute information and a section specifically for health care workers on the front lines of fighting the virus.

At the state level, the State of California has just launched myturn.ca.gov. This site is where you can find out if it’s your turn to get vaccinated and schedule vaccination appointments. If it isn’t your turn yet, you can register to be notified when you become eligible. Note: at the time of writing, only healthcare workers and individuals 65+ in Los Angeles and San Diego Counties can book appointments immediately. Other counties will come online in the coming weeks.

Here in Mendocino County, you can keep track of local endeavors here and check the Vaccine Distribution Status chart posted below to see when you will be eligible to receive the vaccine.

And County Supervisors Ted Williams and Mo Mulheren have collaborated to launch VaccinateMendo.com, a website where county residents can register to subscribe to vaccine alerts for the phases and tiers of the County’s vaccine rollout. Ted Williams stated, “We’re pushing ahead to get vaccines out and into arms as soon as they arrive in the county. The sticking point has been federal distribution but we expect that to ramp up quickly.†

These efforts to distribute the vaccines will go a long way to getting our lives back on track and allowing businesses to open and operate “normally†once more. And while getting a vaccine is in the best interests of us all, it’s important to remember that wearing a mask will be necessary for some time into the future until herd immunity is achieved.

These continue to be trying times but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. West Center has been proud to support our small businesses through this crisis. If you need advice or assistance, pick up the phone and give us a call at 707-964-7571.
