West Center has an exceptional month of workshops in October! We’re recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month with a line-up of Spanish language workshops focused on money management for entrepreneurs and social media strategies for business owners.
Kick off the month with the first of a four-part Spanish language webinar series to learn the basics of planning your expenses, increasing your savings, managing your debt, and improving your creditworthiness. The series, titled “Administración del dinero para emprendedores / Money management for entrepreneurs†will be led by Aricela Rivas and will be held every Tuesday in October at 5:30 pm for 30 minutes. Weekly topics include:
-
El poder del ahorro/The power of savings (October 5)
-
Tome el control con un plan de gastos/Take control with a spending plan (October 12)
-
Cómo ser un buen prestatario/How to be a good borrower (October 19)
-
Desarrolle su solvencia/Develop your creditworthiness (October 26)
Rounding out our Spanish language workshops for the month on October 19 is “Redes sociales para propietarios de empresas/Social media for business ownersâ€, an opportunity to learn all the basic social media skills and tools on popular platforms like Facebook and Instagram to engage and connect with new audiences.
In his “Secrets of Money Management†workshop on October 12, financial wizard Joe Rodola will reveal the best strategies for understanding the financial picture of your business and how to plan cash flow for maximum efficiency.
With so much commerce now moving to an online model, make sure your website for your artwork is up to the task! Allison Wyper, the founder of Rhizomatic Arts, will lead “Artists in Action: Creating Your Artist Website†a lively workshop on October 20 detailing how to create a compelling website that spotlights not only your art but your unique vision as an artist.
Cybersecurity is in the news on a daily basis with website intrusions and ransomware attacks becoming ever bolder. If the answer to “Cybersecurity: What’s Your Plan?†is “I don’t have oneâ€, then attend our October 27 workshop led by our local cyber-expert, Tom Jacobson. Tom has the most up-to-date information on what you need to do to keep your site and business safe.
If you’re a full-time artist and make enough to live on, then you’re very lucky! Many artists struggle to make a living from their craft and work a second job to make ends meet. But is that second job satisfying and the best one for you? Workshop leader Ray Beldner has worked in art education and marketing for the last 20 years and has tips and tools to help you find the right job to supplement your art career. Sign up today for his “Artists in Action: Day Jobs for Artists†workshop!
